Restorative Massage

General Circulation Massage Proper

Restorative massage has been practiced in Japan for over 1200 years and has proved very successful resulting in the many disorders.

Procedure for general circulation massage...

Have patient lie face down on massage table with arms down at sides (in massaging, be careful to keep both hands in contact with patient's body while massaging) first use palmar stroking from the back of the head, down the side of the neck, and continue the stroke to the tip of his shoulder. After 6 to 8 strokes in this manner, use the heel of the palm in a circular motion, (the circle should be about 2 inches in diameter from the base of the neck to the sacrum.)

Restoration massage is divided into four age groups:

  1. The first group is 20 to 40 years old, or youth age. In this group a cure is easily accomplished. If an injury is half way cured, nature will cure the rest or finish the job.
  2. The second group is 40 to 60 years old or young age. In this age group, the entire cure is accomplished by massage.
  3. The third group is 60 to 80 years old or matured age. At least half the total number of massages in the cure must be repeated to prevent a recurrence of trouble.
  4. This fourth group is 80 years and older or old age. A complete restoration in this age group is almost impossible. Relief is all that can be accomplished and only light massage should be used.
