Not Roosevelt

Despite stories to the contrary, this is not a picture of President Roosevelt. The caption reads, "Col. Kenneth Gilbert and his buddy Oumiya. 1945"
Roosevelt was not in the islands during the last year of his life, 1945.

The thumbnail picture is of Professor Kufferath teaching a seminar in Eureka, CA at my Shodan testing (May 1990), in the Dojo of Professor Dennis Estes. I was quite suprised to see it here as i thought I was the only one who had a copy.

The photo above is obviously from the set of professor Okazaki doing sakanuki (on the previous page). I have original copies of those that Professor Kufferath gave me in the 1980's and i believe he told me they were from the early 1940's.

really nice web site.

Cheers

The Troi should have his left foot in front of the uki to stop a stemi. The Uki is usually on his toes at this point and cannot really use his feet or arms.
