The Troi should have his left foot in front of the uki to stop a stemi. The Uki is usually on his toes at this point and cannot really use his feet or arms.

How close do you want him to be? Keeping some distance w/ this tech. can be a good thing. In randori, taking this tech. too close often leads to counters from opponent.
